OVERVIEW

This isn't a lunchtime sales pitch, it's a technical training workshop for family lawyers, built around the financial questions that come up in every separation matter. Over 90 minutes, three specialists across accounting, financial planning and business valuation take you through the numbers side of family law: reading a set of financials, spotting red flags, instructing a valuer correctly, valuation methods and the impact on the valuation, and financial matters beneficial for your clients.

You'll leave with practical capability you can use in your next matter.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Family lawyers who want to read a client's financials with real confidence, not just pass them to an accountant
  • Practitioners who regularly deal with business valuations in property settlements
  • Anyone who wants a clearer, practical understanding of superannuation splitting as a settlement tool, plus a brief introduction to education bonds and bridging finance
  • Junior and senior family lawyers alike, content runs from fundamentals through to the detail experienced practitioners often wish they'd been taught

That's 50 tickets sold and we hit the cap, so every seat booked genuinely helps.

PCLC is an independent, not-for-profit community legal centre that has provided free legal services to Melbourne's south-eastern communities, including the Mornington Peninsula, since 1977, covering family law, family violence, tenancy and more for people who can't otherwise afford it.

We're proud to have Jackie Galloway OAM, CEO of Peninsula Community Legal Centre, joining us for lunch on the day.
