The Victorian Chamber of Commerce's Future Leaders Program is brilliant for small business owners and their managing team members to get training in the skills you need, but have often not been taught. Thanks to strong interest, a private course has been confirmed for a group of 20 people, delivered locally at the SMART office in Mornington — no travel into the city for any of the five training days! I have 6 from the Smart team who will be in the training.

Who is it for?

The program is designed for emerging leaders, new managers, and experienced managers who would benefit from refreshing and strengthening their leadership capabilities. It focuses on practical skills including:

• Understanding your leadership style and building self-awareness
• Communicating effectively and creating psychological safety
• Setting clear goals and expectations
• Providing feedback and managing performance
• Making effective decisions and thinking more strategically
• Building engaged, accountable and high-performing teams
• Leading with consistency, fairness and confidence

Program structure

The program includes five face-to-face training days, structured as one initial day followed by two separate two-day sessions. Participants also complete two online learning modules between the face-to-face sessions, allowing them to apply what they learn in the workplace as the program progresses. I have requested the two-day parts of the workshop be delivered on a Tuesday and Thursday rather than back to back as I thought this would be easier for small business :)

The five face-to-face session dates are:

• Tuesday 14 March 2027 & Thursday 16 March 2027
• Tuesday 27 April 2027 & Thursday 29 April 2027

Pricing

The standard non-member price is $3,525 plus GST per participant. With our private group of 15 delivered in Mornington, the cost is reduced to $2,300 plus GST per person.
